About This Document

This document describes how to use N-Dynamics to drive the various packages in N·World.

• Chapter 1, "N-Dynamics Basics"describes how to create, edit, animate, and save a basic N-Dynamics script.
• Chapter 2, "Basics: Part 2" describes how to delete, load, and copy scripts, as well as some basic techniques for working with channels and cues.
• Chapter 3, "Animating Objects" describes how to animate both superior and inferior objects, how to animate a single frame of a script, and how to change a script's length.
• Chapter 4, "Animating the Camera" shows you how to animate between views, how to animate the camera (and other objects) along a trajectory, and how to make the camera follow an object.
• Chapter 5, "Animating Attributes" tells you how to animate render attributes of an object, to make it change color or appearance over time. It also describes how to animate the attributes for a light.
• Chapter 6, "Animating Displacements" describes the concepts of displacements, or deformation states. It shows how to mix displacements into gestures, and how to animate between saved displacements.
• Chapter 7, "Animating Skeletons" gives a basic introduction to the Skeletal Animation System. It shows you how to animate a skeleton with motion capture data, and how to attach a simple skin to a skeleton.
• Chapter 8, "Animating Paint Operations" shows some examples of driving N-Paint with N-Dynamics: loading a series of images, applying a filter to each image, then writing the images back out. It also shows how to composite a series of images onto a common background or onto another series of images.
• Chapter 9, "Controlling Script Flow" describes how to use some of the operations that control script flow, working directly with values, and more.
