LIGHT

Associate/Disassociate

The Light Associate/Disassociate command is available in all modules except Tools. It allows you to associate or disassociate a selective light to or from specific objects. You may want to use it for controlling lights for a specific effect. One specific use of this command is to save rendering time. This command can be used if you are using raytraced lights: shadows rays are not cast from objects that are not influenced by light, so there is less information to process.

Note:

To use this command, you must define the light as selective when you create or edit it (see Light Define or Light Edit).

Procedure

  1. Select the objects or hierarchies to which you want to associate the light, or from which you want to disassociate the light.
  2. Choose the Light->Associate/Disassociate command.
  3. Pick the light.
