DUPLICATE

Swap

If you no longer want to use your master in an instantiation, the Duplicate->Swap command, available in all modules except Tools, lets you draw a new master and swap it with the old one. All instances now resemble the new master and are linked to it in the Schematic window.

For example, if you are no longer satisfied with a window that you drew and instantiated many times within a building model, you can build a new master window and swap it with the old one to change all the windows.

Procedure

  1. Select the master (or the master's hierarchy) that you want to replace.
  2. Choose the Duplicate->Swap command.
  3. Pick the new object (or hierarchy) to use as the master.

The instances are now all linked to and resemble the new master.
