DUPLICATE

From animation

The Duplicate->From Animation command is available in all modules except Tools. It allows you to duplicate an animated object at regular frame intervals by specifying either the number of copies to be generated or the frame intervals at which the object is to be duplicated. This is particularly useful when duplicating an object on a path.

Note:

The resulting duplicated objects have no associated animation.

You could also use this command to duplicate an animated curve and then skin the resulting curves.

Duplicates are generated according to the parameters set by the Duplicate->Setup command.

Procedure

  1. Select the animated object.
  2. Choose the Duplicate->From Animation command.

The Duplicate from Animation dialogue box is displayed.
  3. Set the parameters as desired.
  4. Click Ok.

Parameters

Frame Start and End

Specifies the range of frames you want to duplicate of the animated object, specified by the Start and End values.

Copy Method

Frame Step

Specifies at which frame intervals a duplicate of the object is generated. For example, if you enter 4, a duplicate is generated every four frames. The actual number of duplicates generated depends on the number of frames in the animation you have specified, and the number of frame steps you chose.

Number of Copies

Specifies the exact number of duplicates to be generated.
