SHAPE |
AnimatedCVFormula |
The Shape->AnimatedCVFormula command in the Motion module operates in the same manner as the Deformation->CVFormula effect, except that it contains the TIME parameter and other parameters that can be keyframed. This allows you to precisely control and animate the shape of the SOFTIMAGE 3D model.
Reserved Variables
These are predefined variables used for equations. For more information, see SOFTIMAGE Custom Effects Formula.
User Variables
You can define these variables using any letter or word.
Equations 0 to 9
Any numbers of equations may be filled in here. Each equation must be less than 40 characters. The variables X, Y, and Z refer to the coordinates of the control vertices of the object. These variables may appear on either the left or right side of the equation. For more information on using equations, see SOFTIMAGE Custom Effects Formula.
Program Variables
You can keyframe these variables and use them in equations.
Tagged Vertices Only
Applies the effect only to tagged vertices.
Random Number Seed
This number acts as a seed to the random numbers generated with RAND. The same seed produces the same numbers, while a different seed produces different numbers.
Apply Model Transform
If the desired effect is to take place after a transformation is applied to the model, select this option; otherwise, the formulae is applied to the untransformed model.
Start and End Frames
Indicates the frame range in which to apply the formulae.
Frames Per Second
For the motion timing to be correct, this option must be set to the same frame rate being used by SOFTIMAGE 3D, usually 30 or 24 frames per second.
Next, Previous, Delete, Key, and Frame
For the animated effects, Next advances to the next keyframe, Previous goes back to the previous keyframe, Delete removes a keyframe, and Key sets a keyframe at the frame you specify in the Frame text box. These controls can be accessed only after you have set the initial parameters in the dialogue box and clicked Ok. To return to the dialogue box and edit keyframes for the effects, select the effect icon and choose the Effects->Edit Parameters command in the Motion module.
