HrcAnimatedBevel

The Path->HrcAnimatedBevel command in the Motion module is the animated version of the Surface->HrcBevel effect in the Model module. It allows you to perform an AnimatedBevel operation on an entire hierarchy of curves or faces in one step.

Procedure

  1. Create a hierarchy of curves or faces, and the bevel guide curve.
  2. Draw the bevel guide in the xy plane, as described in the procedure for the Surface->HrcBevel command, and animate the bevel guide.
  3. Position the hierarchy and the bevel guide.
  4. Choose the Path->HrcAnimatedBevel command.

    The associated dialogue box is displayed (the same dialogue box as the Surface->HrcBevel effect).

  5. Set the parameters as desired.
  6. Pick any element in the hierarchy to which you want to apply the effect, then pick the bevel guide.

The effect is applied to all face or curve nodes in the hierarchy instantly.

The bevelled model is created.

Play back the scene to view the final result.

Note:

The resulting object for the HrcAnimatedBevel effect is always a polygon mesh object. If the capping parameter is set, the result is a hierarchy with the front and back caps as separate nodes.

Parameters

The parameters are the same as in the Surface->HrcBevel dialogue box.
