FCRVEDIT

Set Key

The FcrvEdit->Set Key command in the Motion module allows you to numerically edit a function curve using parameters in a dialogue box. You can also perform this action by selecting the SETKEY option from the Fcurve window title bar.

Procedure

  1. Select a function curve in the Fcurve window.
  2. Choose the FcrvEdit->Set Key command and click a key point on the curve. The Set Key dialogue box is displayed.
  3. Modify the desired parameters.
  4. Click Ok to accept the settings or Cancel to exit the dialogue box.

Parameters

Name

Function curve name.

Fkey #

Current key point number.

Frame

Current key point's frame location.

Value

Current key point's value.

R Slope

Current key point's right slope value.

L Slope

Current key point's left slope value.

Constant Interp

Sets a constant interpolation mode for the current segment.

For a description of all interpolation types, see the Fcurve Window Title Bar Options section.

Linear Interp

Spline Interp

Sets a spline interpolation mode for the current segment.

Slope 0 Interp

Sets a slope 0 interpolation mode for the current segment.

Plateau Interp

Sets a plateau interpolation mode for the current segment.

Automatic Slope

Ensures that the slopes for the key are automatically calculated (same left and right slopes) from the neighbouring keys. When you manually modify a slope using the mouse in the Fcurve window, this option is removed because the slope is now considered to be user-defined.

Free-form

Sets the current key point type to free-form.

Refer to the Keyframe command on Keyframe for information on key point types.

Keyframe

Sets the current key point's type to keyframe.

Note:

Keyframe key points (shown in yellow on the function curve) cannot be moved.

Keypath

Sets the current key point type to key path. A Spline Index number must be specified or the type is set to free-form automatically.

Spline Index

Sets the control point number associated with the current key point. The key point must be set to Key Path.

Previous

Displays the setting for the previous key point of the selected function curve.

Next

Displays the setting for the next key point of the selected function curve.

Modify

Confirms the new setting. Use Modify to make changes on a key point before moving to another key point with Previous and Next. You do not have to click Modify if you edit only one key point.

Cancel

Ignores all changes and exits the dialogue box. Modifications are not cancelled if Modify is selected before Cancel.

Ok

Saves all modifications and exits the dialogue box.
