HrcMagnet

 

The Effects->HrcMagnet command in the Motion module works like the Effects->Magnet effect except that one model can magnetically deform an entire hierarchy. The magnet itself may be a part of the hierarchy that it deforms. This is useful when using HrcMagnet in conjunction with dynamics commands in the Actor module.

 

Procedure

  1. Create two models: a magnet model and the hierarchy it affects. Either of the models can be animated.
  2. Choose the Effects->HrcMagnet command.

    The Magnet dialogue box is displayed.

  3. Set the parameters as desired.
  4. Pick the magnet ("control" object), then pick the object it affects.

The effect icon appears indicating that the effect is active.

Note:

As with all Motion effects, the icon can be animated and the parameters set can be further edited or animated by selecting the icon and choosing the Effects->Edit Parameters command in the Motion module.

The parameters are the same for the Effects->Magnet dialogue box.
