EFFECTS

HrcAnimShrinkWrap

The Effects->HrcAnimShrinkWrap command in the Motion module is the animated version of Deformation->HrcShrinkWrap in the Model module. These effects allow you to "shrinkwrap" an entire hierarchy (composed of curves, polygon meshes, patches, or NURBS surfaces) to conform to the surface of a polygon mesh or patch object.

Procedure

  1. Create three elements:

Note:

Both the inner and outer hierarchies should have the same number of models and points.

Any of the models can be animated.

For the HrcAnimShrinkWrap effect to work, the inner and outer wrapper models must have their own separate animation files.

  1. Choose the Effects->HrcAnimShrinkWrap command in the Motion module. The Shrink Wrap dialogue box is displayed.
  2. Set the parameters as desired.
  3. Pick the target object, the outer wrapper hierarchy, and then the inner wrapper hierarchy.

The effect icon appears, indicating that the effect is active, and the new model is created.

  4. Play back the animation, or click on different frames to ensure that the shrinkwrap is properly updated.

Parameters

The parameters are the same as for the Deformation->ShrinkWrap command's dialogue box

Next, Previous, Delete, Key, and Frame

For the animated effects, Next advances to the next keyframe, Previous goes back to the previous keyframe, Delete removes a keyframe, and Key sets a keyframe at the frame you specify in the Frame text box. These controls are available only after you have set the initial parameters in the dialogue box and clicked Ok. To return to the dialogue box and edit keyframes for the effect, select the effect icon and choose the Effects->Edit Parameters command in the Motion module.
