SURFACE

HrcBevel

The Surface->HrcBevel command in the Model module is the hierarchy version of the Surface->Bevel command. It allows you to apply the bevel you define to any or all nodes in a hierarchy of curves or faces in just a few clicks of the mouse.

Procedure

  1. Create a hierarchy of curves or faces, and the bevel guide curve.

Draw the bevel guide in the xy plane, as described in the procedure for Surface->Bevel.
  2. Position the hierarchy and the bevel guide.
  3. Choose the Surface->HrcBevel command in the Model module. The associated dialogue box is displayed (the same dialogue box as the Bevel effect).
  4. Set the parameters as desired. They are the same as for the Surface->Bevel effect.
  5. Pick any element in the hierarchy to which you want to apply the effect, then pick the bevel guide.

The effect is instantly applied to all face or curve nodes in the hierarchy.

The bevelled model is created.

Note:

The resulting object for the Bevel and HrcBevel effects is always a polygon mesh object. If the capping parameter is set, then the result is a hierarchy with the front and back caps as separate nodes.
