ChangeInfo

The Info->ChangeInfo command allows you to create a modified version of a model by editing information you usually access from the Info->Selection menu command (polygon mesh, patch, NURBS, and model names) of a selected model. This effect allows you to easily change the resolution of a complex model (such as a human body made of several surfaces). You can then use the different versions of your model (low, mid, high resolution) in conjunction with the Get->Substitution command.

Tip:

With ChangeInfo, you can quickly rename a complete hierarchy by adding a prefix to each node. For example, if you have a complex human model hierarchy, you can add the prefix "RightArm" to the existing node name of each node on the right side of the body. This makes it easy to recognize and select the model using the Schematic window.

Procedure

  1. Choose the Info->ChangeInfo command. The ChangeInfo dialogue box is displayed.
  2. Set the parameters as desired.
  3. Click Ok to confirm the settings and exit the dialogue box.
  4. Pick the model for which you want to create a modified version.

A new model is created according to the parameters set.
