Effects Text

 

The Get->EffectsText command in the Model module lets you create text using a font you created with the Get->GetEffectsFont command.

This command works in conjunction with the Get->GetEffectsFont and Save->SaveEffectsFont effects in the Model module to let you create, store, and use your own character fonts. Once a font is designed and saved with Save->EffectsText. Fonts can also be manipulated and saved again with Get->GetEffectsFont. A default font is supplied.

Procedure

  1. Choose the Get->EffectsText command in the Model module. The Text dialogue box is displayed.
  2. Set the parameters as desired.
  3. Click Ok.

Parameters

Font Name

Type in the name of the font you want to use (case is important). Click the Browser button to use a browser for easy access to font directories. The font included in the SOFTIMAGE custom effects package is called goofy. It is contained in the /Demos/etc directory of the SOFTIMAGE custom effects package.

Lines 1 to 4

Type in the words you want to display.

Italicize Text and Degrees

Lets you choose the angle of italicized text. The amount is in degrees.

Proportional or Constant Spacing

These options determine whether every letter is given the same amount of space (constant spacing) or if thinner letters such as "i" or "l" are given less space (proportional spacing).

Left, Right, or Center Justify

Used to select how the four lines of text are justified relative to one another. This option only matters if there is more than one line of text.
