DUPLICATE

CopyGeometry

The Duplicate->CopyGeometry command in the Model module allows you to substitute the geometry of one object with that of another.

This allows you to quickly perform animations and deformations on very simple objects. When satisfied with the results, you can substitute the geometry of a more complex object.

The Duplicate->HrcCopyGeometry command in the Model module lets you copy the geometry of a source object to every non-null object in a hierarchy.

Procedure

Note:

If there are deformation animations such as a wave, lattice, curve, or surface deformation applied to the objects, they should be "detached" before using the CopyGeometry effect and then reattached. This preserves all the animations.

  1. Create a source and a destination object.
  2. Choose Duplicate->CopyGeometry.
  3. Pick the source object, then the destination object.
