The Draw->Attach Hole command in the Model module creates holes in a face. Holes can be created from closed curves. Faces with holes can also be extruded and revolved.
When attaching a hole, the following rules and tips apply:
- The hole(s) does not intersect the face boundaries, as described in the previous introduction.
- The hole(s) is in the same plane.
The face and attached holes remain highlighted as more holes are added on the face. If you subsequently choose the Info->Selection command for the face, its related dialogue box indicates that it has holes.
After the Attach operation, the original curve is preserved and remains in the same spot as the newly attached hole. This superimposition may cause confusion later when you try to delete or detach the hole in the face. You may unknowingly select the original curve instead of the hole.
To avoid this problem, you should move or delete the original curve (use the Schematic window to select it) before performing operations on the face.
