The Atmosphere->Ambience command in the Matter module controls the ambient illumination for all objects in a scene. For most purposes, the default settings are adequate.
For a description of Global Ambience, see the Areas of Illumination section of the Defining Materials and Textures User's Guide.
When you choose the Atmosphere->Ambience command, the Global Ambience dialogue box is displayed.
Colour Sliders
The ambient colour is defined using three colour sliders. Colours can be defined by dragging the sliders, using the arrows, or entering values in the text boxes. The colour values range from 0 to 1. The RGB button above the sliders toggles between RGB, HLS, and HSV colour.
Palette
Displays the Palette dialogue box and allows you to use the system palettes for selecting and mixing colours. You can also define and save your own palettes. For more information on using the palette, see Palette Operations.
